New antiandrogen: the Ru58841 molecule

molecula antiandrógeno experimental
The field of hair surgery, and the different ways to treat alopecia, are a constant object of research.  One of the latest discoveries in the Ru58841 molecule.  It is a new non-steroidal antiandrogen, which was created as an alternative to the classic Finasteride.
Currently, this new molecule is sold over the Internet, although there are still no scientific works that have demonstrated its effectiveness.  Only independent studies have been carried out, but in few patients, so it is not yet a safe treatment.
The Ru58841 molecule, which is already available in pills and for topical use, has been studied since 1994. Regarding the results, they are promising, despite the absence of clinical studies, but it is unknown if it will have side effects.  It is a promising molecule for the future, as its affinity for androgen receptors is three times that of testosterone.  Thus, it is presented as an alternative to the classical therapeutic possibilities.

Other drug treatments to prevent alopecia

In addition, at Dr. Panno’s Hair Transplant Clinic, we offer our patients advice on which pharmacological treatments, such as minoxidil or finasteride, are adequate to prevent alopecia, which can also be acquired in the clinic.
Next, we tell you more about these two pharmacological treatments:
Minoxidil, a drug to treat both male and female alopecia, is a lotion available in different concentrations.  It must be provided by a doctor, after assessing the needs of the patient and prescribing the appropriate dose.  Dr. Panno advises on the use of this treatment and certain skin absorption vitamins to obtain optimal results to restore hair.  It consists of a daily administration on the scalp and must be applied continuously to maintain hair growth.
Finasteride is also a daily hair treatment.  It comes in tablets and can only be prescribed by a registered doctor.  It is prescribed for hair restoration in men and works by preventing testosterone from being converted into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), thereby preventing hair follicles from reducing their size and eventually disappearing.  It is a long-term hair treatment that can take several months to work.  It is a treatment that must always be used under medical supervision.
