Hair Transplant Repair

Over time, hair surgery techniques have been improving considerably, achieving amazing results.  However, sometimes it may happen that the results are not quite as expected, either due to scars in the donor area, due to the combination of various techniques or the appearance of marks.  Therefore, it is normal for patients to consider whether poorly performed hair transplants can be repaired.

What does reconstructive hair surgery consist of?

Reconstructive surgery aims to correct the hair transplant through a minimally invasive intervention.

Hair transplant repair, on the one hand, tries to minimize the poor results of the previous graft, and, on the other hand, aims to ensure that the patient values the result obtained positively, that is, that the repair meets the needs of the patient .

To correctly repair a hair transplant requires extensive experience and the assessment of an expert surgeon.  At Dr. Panno we have an expert team in hair transplants that is in charge of following the entire process, from the initial assessment to the evaluation of the results obtained.

When to resort to a transplant repair?

One of the main reasons that manifest in our clinic is the patient’s dissatisfaction with the results obtained, but in addition, we have observed the following causes:

  • Lack of naturalness in the previous surgery, creating an appearance of artificial hair.  This aesthetic problem is often called “doll hair”.
  • Incorrect placement of the first line affecting the patient’s profile.
  • Disguise the scars by the use of techniques that left marks on the upper part of the scalp.
  • Reduce the marks produced by the combination of techniques such as grafting and micropigmentation.
  • Result of the previous graft with a low capillary density.
  • Result of excessive capillary density generated by an incorrect diagnosis of the recipient area.

If you want to resort to a transplant repair, at Dr. Panno’s Hair Transplant Clinic we recommend carrying out a capillary diagnosis to assess the area to be treated and check if the tissue is optimal for a new intervention.  It should be checked that the donor area is not depleted and the evolution of hair loss.
